Madonna’s new video for “Girl Gone Bad” (on the left) is about as gay as anyone would like, but it looks like she had to borrow from a few sources to achieve the effect! Steven Klein’s “Anatomy of a Murder” employs a gun as a phallic symbol to be wielded by a man. Lady Gaga did something very similar a year prior for her “Alejandro” video, and Madonna seemed to like the idea. Whether or not you take something from her choice of model looking so similar to the other two is up to you, but you should note that Steven Klein directed the “Alejandro” clip as well. I wonder what Madonna’s former collaborator would think of this. And then of course we see that Madonna’s dancers for her new video are sporting some mean stilettos. That page is straight from all-male pop group Kazaky’s book, which you can clearly see in their “You Want Me” video. To a lesser extent, Madonna is once again stealing from Lady Gaga’s masterpiece “Alejandro”, as key parts of the art piece feature her male dancers in heels.

Madonna copies Lady Gaga’s legendary video for ‘Alejandro’. Lady Who? The Lady you’ve been copying this entire era.
WHO WORE IT BEST? Sharon Needles or Madonna in her “Give Me All Your Luvin’” Video? (Yup, it’s the same top.)
